What is wrong with health care? Well thousands of reasons, but first and most important let us start with the drug companies. Prescription drugs are so expensive you almost need to sell a kidney to pay for them! Example; Nexium, the little purple pill, sells for about six dollars a pill, a thirty day supply is almost one hundred and eighty dollars. Are the drug companies insane? Lipitor for high cholesterol is about 160 dollars for a month, sleeping pills, for example Rozeram, they run you about 150 to 180 dollars for a months supply.
Well this is my rant of the day. Thank the good lord I have insurance, but what about all those that do not and have no funds to get there medications? I guess no one cares about them... I do and think every one should begin to address this issue with the drug companies.
Also one more note.. drug reps give a lot of samples to the doctors to push their drug. How many docs give samples or just the staff gets the samples? I have a new doc thank you GOD! He gave me some samples and I almost cried.. JOIN the rant on drug companies!
For today I want every one to start asking for samples from your doctors office. Since new drugs might not be for you, before spending money you have or do not have get samples! Plus write letters to protest drug prices. Hell the truth is street drugs to some degree are cheaper than prescription drugs, now that is sad, but true!
